Before her death, Marie Goslich entrusted around 400 of her glass negatives to her good friend, the young landlady of the Baumgartenbrück inn. In the turmoil of war, Liselotte Herrmann managed to preserve this great treasure as best she could, hidden in a stairwell closet. Almost 100 years after they were taken, Krystina Kauffmann, Marie Goslich's biographer, discovered Marie Goslich's photographs and began to study this extraordinary woman over many years.
